Care & Maintanence
All Locks and cylinders need the correct type of care and maintenance. We recommend every 6 months using Federal graphite powder for the best protection and lubrication for your cylinder. Simply add the powder to the key and work in to the lock this will lubricate the internal pins helping to maintain and ensure smooth operation of the cylinder pins.
6 Monthly Maintenance Procedure

This is a quick guide explaining how to lubricate and maintain your Xtreme 3* Cylinder.
You’re not going to need any tools but you will need some graphite flakes and the key to the door. Graphite Flakes can be purchased in 2g & 30g in store Click Here
- Apply the powder by tapping the flakes onto the key so some of the graphite is on the length of the key take care by covering carpets or flooring as this may mark.
- Lubricate the cylinder Insert the key with the graphite flakes on into the keyway and turn the key and pull it in and out of the cylinder several times as if you are locking or unlocking your door.
- Remove the key Remove the key and turn it upside down. And do the same as above on the reverse side of the key.
- Finish The Above process needs repeating every six months before winter and the begining of summer to help keep your Xtreme cylinder working smoothly.
